Haynie Public Library is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

Library Services

Haynie Public Library offers free Internet access on our five computers. We also have wireless Internet access available for those who prefer to bring their own laptop.  A charging station located in the lounge area is available for your convenience.

Our WiFi is accessible inside and outside with no password required.  We also have two solar charging benches on the east and west sides of the library for your convenience.

Our children’s area is a fun, bright, open area for our youngest patrons to read, learn and explore. We have books for all ages, from babies to sixth grade.  If you are looking for Accelerated Readers, we have those, too!

We have a Youth section for middle school and high school readers containing old favorites as well as newer series by popular authors. Our non-fiction Youth and Juvenile section offers subjects as space exploration, US history, biographies and career options.  We have a Young Adult area, too, offering a variety of modern series with lounge seating.

For our adult readers, we have extensive fiction and non-fiction sections. One of our most popular areas is the section devoted to Christian / Inspirational fiction.

We also have movie rentals (with an established library checkout history).

Library Programs

Every June, we participate in the Oklahoma Department of Libraries’ summer reading program. Our focus is keeping the children engaged and therefore encouraging siblings, parents, even grandparents to sign up for the reading program, too. Children and adults separated by age categories (lap sitters, early readers, elementary, juvenile, tween, teen, young adult and adult).  Book logs are turned in weekly (goodie bags given) and pages are tallied.  The individual with the most pages read, in each category, will earn a grand prize at the end of the month.

Friends of the Library

Through numerous donations, we have books for sale in the very back of the library.  The books are 5 cents each or if you fill a bag (we supply) the cost is 50 cents.  The money goes to The Prague Friends of the Library.
