The Haynie Public Library is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

Library Services

The Haynie Public Library offers free Internet access on our six computers. We also have wireless Internet access available for business travelers and those who prefer to bring their own laptop.

In addition to our public computers and Internet access, the Haynie Public Library also has one computer reserved for job searches through Workforce Oklahoma. Patrons can access online job search tools, build a resume and find tips for job searches, resume writing and interviewing.

Our children's area is a bright, open area for our youngest patrons to read and learn. We have books for all ages, from babies to sixth grade.

We have a youth section for middle school and high school readers. Our youth section contains old favorites as well as newer series by popular authors.

For adult readers, we have extensive fiction and non-fiction sections. One of our most popular areas is the section devoted to Christian fiction. Our adult section also has a lounge for reading and relaxing.

Library Programs

Every June, we participate in the Oklahoma Department of Libraries' summer reading program for children. The programs are geared toward children between four and eight years old, but any child who can listen quietly is welcome to attend. During the programs, which last approximately an hour, guest speakers entertain the children with stories and then read a book on the program's topic. Most programs end with an activity, and children are sent home with goody bags full of items that reflect the program's theme.

Every other Wednesday morning, we host TotTime, a reading program for children under the age of six. Children listen to a book read by one of our librarians and then color a picture relating to the book. This is a great time to bring your young one to the library; parents are welcome to browse the adult section while their children attend TotTime, but we do ask that the parents do not leave the library. Check the calendar for the next TotTime.

Once a month, we hold a movie time for children. The screenings our held in our meeting room, and popcorn is provided by Vision Bank. Movie times are posted on the online calendar as they are scheduled.

We hope to soon begin several book clubs. If you have a favorite author or genre or if you would just like to get together with other readers and discuss books, please let us know!
